About Charlie Cakes
I am Emily Linville, cake designer and owner of Charlie Cakes. I created Charlie Cakes out of a passion that I have for cake decorating and for owning my own business. Ever since I was a child I have enjoyed baking and have always been artistic. I am now a full-time working mother of 5 children ranging in age from 15 to 2. I'm sure you can imagine the stress and chaos that comes along with working full-time outside the home and trying to manage a family. Ever since I became a mother, I have had a strong desire to be at home with my children, but have never had the option to be a full-time stay-at-home-mom. That desire became even more prevalent after the birth of my 5th child, Charlie, in February 2010. So a few months later, I decided put my creative gifts to good use and pursue a dream that I have had for many years of opening my own cake business. I signed up for my first cake decorating class, and Charlie Cakes was born! Over the past year-and-a-half, my cake orders have been steadily increasing. I am still working full-time and doing my cakes on the side, but eagerly anticipating the day when Charlie Cakes will replace my full-time job.
